CALL FOR PAPERS: International Migration in the 21st Century -VII
Yeditepe University Global Education and Culture Research and Application Center (KEKAM) is delighted to announce the seventh annual International Migration Conference, to be held on 10-11 October 2023 at Yeditepe University in Istanbul, Turkey. The conference serves as a platform for scholars, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and students to explore and exchange knowledge on various aspects of international migration in the 21st century.

Interregional migration: Trends, patterns, and impacts
Migration policies: State and institutional approaches
International migration and security: Borders, terrorism, and global implications
Illegal migration and smuggling: Understanding the complexities and combating illicit practices
Brain drain: Implications for source countries and brain circulation initiatives
Border management: Strategies, challenges, and best practices
Labor migration: Economic impacts, rights, and labor market integration
Migration and culture: Identity, multiculturalism, and social cohesion
Geopolitics and diplomacy: Migration in the context of global politics and international relations
The integration of migrants: Social, economic, and political dimensions
Diaspora and minority studies: Experiences, identities, and transnational connections
Human rights: Protection, advocacy, and the role of international institutions
Migration and development: Contributions, remittances, and sustainable development goals
We invite researchers, academics, policymakers, practitioners, and graduate students to submit original papers that explore the aforementioned topics or other relevant areas related to international migration. We welcome interdisciplinary approaches and encourage research that offers innovative perspectives, empirical studies, theoretical frameworks, and policy recommendations.

Abstract Submission Deadline: 14 August 2023
Notification of Acceptance: 31 August 2023
Full Paper Submission Deadline: 31 October 2023
Conference Dates: 10 – 11 October 2023
Abstracts can be submitted in both English and Turkish and should not exceed 250 words. Full papers should be between 5,000 to 7,000 words, including references, and follow the APA style guidelines. Submissions will undergo a blind peer-review process by the scientific committee of KEKAM.
REGISTRATION FEES
The registration fees for the accepted papers to be presented at the conference are as follows.
Early bird registration fee

Turkish lira: 500 TL (for students 300 TL)
Euro: 50 Euro (for students 30 Euro)

11 September – 25 September 2023
Turkish lira: 700 TL (for students 500 TL)
Euro: 70 Euro (for students 50 Euro)

Selected papers will have the opportunity to be considered for publication in an edited international book. As KEKAM, we published three collective academic books entitled “International Migration in the 21st Century” that was published by Cambridge Scholar Publishing Company in 2018, “International Migration and Challenges in the Beginning of the 21th Century” and “Refugee Crises and Migration Policies: from Local to Global” were published by Lexington Books.
Apart from these, some of the selected papers were published by Yeditepe University İ.İ.B.F. Published in the journal CONRESS.
