Established in 2014, the Yeditepe University Research and Application Center for Global Education and Cultural Studies aims to examine various regions from cultural, social, political, and economic perspectives.
It is intended to analyze, through interdisciplinary approaches, the similarities and differences of Turkey’s historical and cultural ties with different regions in a comparative and comprehensive manner.
The center aims to study events from a broad perspective, taking into account multiple variables, and to investigate change and continuity in different regions with contributions from various departments of the university
While conducting scientific research and studies of political, economic, cultural, social, and legal nature on national and international issues, the center also aims to build and share knowledge in cooperation with relevant institutions and organizations.
Objectives and Fields of Study of the Center
- Conduct, plan, and implement interdisciplinary scientific studies and research on the cultural, social, political, and economic aspects of countries, regions, and international organizations with which Turkey maintains bilateral relations;
- Produce books, articles, reports, and analyses that examine Turkey’s neighborhood relations, regional issues, and the policies of global actors concerning regional matters;
- Publish an international journal in Turkish and English featuring current evaluations and peer-reviewed scientific and academic studies discussing the issues of countries and regions;
- Organize or contribute to the organization of national and international meetings, workshops, courses, congresses, exhibitions, panels, symposiums, and conferences concerning the issues of countries with which Turkey maintains bilateral relations;
- Establish domestic and international connections on subjects within the center’s field of study and to maintain close relations and cooperation with relevant organizations and centers both in Turkey and abroad;
- In this context, to interact with national and international institutions and organizations, prepare and implement joint projects, publications, meetings, and exchange programs;
- Organize educational programs, courses, seminars, conferences, and national and international congresses aimed at the development of researchers in the center’s fields of study, to award certificates related to these activities, and to publish works connected to these efforts.
